William W. "Bill" Williamson
William W. "Bill" Williamson, age 60, of Kahoka, MO, passed away Monday, January 5, 2004 at his home.
He was born March 21, 1943 in Kansas City, KS, a son of William Charles and Onandas Bartley Williamson.
On March 27, 1966, he was united in marriage to Linda Harris in Kansas City, KS.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, of Kahoka, MO; a daughter, Kerrie Brady and her husband Chris, of Madison, AL; a grandson, Connor William Brady, of Madison, AL; mother-in-law, Frieda Harris of Edwardsville, KS; a sister, Patricia Matthews and her husband, William "Bill", of Edwardsville, KS; brother-in-law, Robert Harris and his wife, Pam, of Shawnee, KS; two nieces, Stephanie Smith of Bonner Springs, KS and Stacey Matthews of Kansas City, MO; two nephews, Robert Todd Harris of Overland Park, KS and Wesley Grant Harris of Kansas City, MO; as well as other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Floyd Harris; an infant brother; and a brother-in-law, Mickey Harris.
Bill was raised in the Kansas City area, graduating from Turner High School in Kansas City, KS and later attending Pittsburg State College at Pittsburg, KS. He went to work for Griffin Wheel in Kansas City in 1963 and in 1976 was transferred to the Keokuk plant where he was a supervisor until retiring in 1999. He had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Kahoka.
Bill was a kind, generous person who valued his many friendships. He enjoyed drinking coffee at the local restaurants and the fellowship there. He also enjoyed getting together with friends to watch sports, even though he was the "lone" Kansas University fan in the group. Bill truly loved his flowers, garden and yard. His grandson, Connor, was the light of his life and he was truly proud to be a "doting" grandfather.
Funeral services are Thursday, January 8, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Funeral Home in Kansas City, KS, with Dr. Rick Seaton officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Locally, a visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO. Visitation will also be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Maple Hill Funeral Home in Kansas City.
Memorials are suggested to the Clark Co. Local Cancer Society or to the American Cancer Society.
