WILMA A. DUNLAP
Wilma A. Dunlap, age 87 of Kirksville, MO, formerly of St. Louis, died Monday, March 8, 2004 in Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.
She was born November 10, 1916 on a farm near the county lines of Scotland and Clark Counties in Missouri, a daughter of Homer and Ethel St. Clair Walker.
On June 18, 1938, she was united in marriage to Floyd T. Dunlap in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1996.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Cramer of Fort Worth, TX; three grandchildren,
Michael Cramer of Fort Worth, TX, and Lance Harris and Jill Carles, both of St. Louis, MO;
one great grandchild, Jordan Carles of St. Louis, MO; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Georgia Ann Harris; and three brothers, Edward, Leland, and Charles Walker.
Wilma was raised near Wyaconda, graduating from Wyaconda High School and then from Chillicothe Business College. She had been trained in secretarial work and authored several published books dealing with genealogy. She was however, first and foremost, a
housewife and mother.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kirksville, MO and a member of the Senior Songsters and the Church Choir. She was an avid geneologist and catalogued all of the cemeteries in Clark County and several other counties and also wrote Walker and St. Clair family history books. Wilma enjoyed traveling and visiting relatives in different parts of the country.
Funeral services are Sunday, March 14, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Kahoka, MO with Rev. Ernest Deatrick officiating. Burial will be in New Woodville Cemetery.
Friends can call after 9 a.m. Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with family receiving friends one hour prior to services at the First Baptist Church in Kahoka.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
