WYNN F. "BUD" OWEN

Wynn F. "Bud" Owen, age 81, of Kahoka, MO, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2005 at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka where he had been a resident the past month.

He was born December 28, 1923 in Hawthorne, WI, the son of Wynn M. and Susie Marie Hough Owen.

He and Iona A. Hoewing were married at the Wayland Methodist Church on July 17, 1948.

Survivors include: his wife, Iona A. Owen of Kahoka, MO; one son, Dennis Owen and his wife, Judy, of Kahoka, MO; two grandchildren: Jeanie Marie Owen and Jamie Lee Owen, both of Kahoka, MO; a brother-in-law, Ralph Hoewing and his wife, Janet, of Riverside, CA; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister in infancy; and, two grandchildren, Angela and Justin Owen.

"Bud" graduated from Ballard High School south of Kahoka and was a member of the

Wayland United Methodist Church. He had been a businessman and farmer in Clark Co. most of his life. He had operated the former Wayland Hardware, also NAPA and a shoe repair and Redwing sales store in Kahoka. He loved raising and working with horses and working on saddles and bridles in his shoe repair business.

In earlier years Bud had enjoyed fishing, playing cards and going to car races. He kept very busy in later years as a Charter Member and former President of the Kahoka Lion's Club. He was a devoted husband and father and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services are Sunday, August 7, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with burial in Kahoka Cemetery.

Friends can call after 9 a.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 1 p.m. until time of services.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to Blessing Hospice or the Wayland United Methodist Church.
